BINARY is a body horror about Nisha, a Pakistani trans woman and dancer, who came to The Netherlands for her upcoming bottom surgery. As she settles in and earns money as a dancer at events together with her new friend Eva, she starts experiencing physical pain. First it seems like something is hurting from inside her body, but after an uncomfortable situation in a boxing gym in which she’s awkwardly confronted by an oblivious cisgender woman, she feels something rising up in her throat. She’s just in time to reach the sink, as she throws up her Adam's apple. Overcome with shock she makes a quick exit. 

As a trans woman, the last few years Nisha has been dealing with a conflicting state of mind in which she has mentally pushed away her former male gender identity throughout the years. And now, out of that Adam’s apple, her male ego bardo is reborn. he doesn’t accept how Nisha has treated him. Rapidly growing to a full sized human and without Nisha realising, he comes after her to stop her before she undergoes the final step in her transition.

On the last night before her operation, Nisha joins Eva to a private booking for a bachelor party. unaware of the approaching danger, she meets the football team who’ve booked the dancers as a surprise for their friend harvey. the fun turns into a dangerous situation when harvey accidentally discovers that Nisha has male genitalia, during the performance. in conflict with his own sexuality, Drug fuelled and outraged, harvey pushes his football team to turn against the two women, who they brutally abuse and lock up. then the night takes an unexpected turn for the worse when bardo shows up… filled with resentment he takes revenge on the football team - ending the night in a bloodbath as nisha realises he wasn’t trying to hurt her but in fact, bardo wanted to protect her.

During the gender affirming surgery, as the transition is completed, nisha wakes up from her anaesthesia to a room full of chaos. Bardo decided to come back - still feeling neglected and vengeful, he re-enters her body…
