Pathé is the biggest film exploiter in The Netherlands, with more than 165 screens through the country. The company has been around for more than 100 years. Besides showing films it's also a production company, with movies like Chicken Run, Memento, La Grande Bellezza and Crash on their slate.

Digital Media Distribution
What is the future of film distribution? This question was the starting point of a research I did in 2015, for which I interviewed ten specialists. Pathé was curious to know whether programming more movies would automatically mean more visitors.

I divided my case in chapters, looking at the past of the company, the state of film distribution and the required volume of films. I used a statement directors George Lucas and Steven Spielberg made, about the possible implosion of the film industry with an increase of expensive blockbusters.

My research was developed at Pathé headquarters in Amsterdam Zuid. It's titled The Implosion of the Film Industry and eventually got me involved in the Cannes Film Festival, where I had the chance to internationalise this thesis.
