This is the opening scene of our feature film HEADCASE, about a mindfulness app that makes you go insane.
In our modern self-medicating society we all seem to know what’s best for us. Whether it’s yoga, self-help books or plain old pills, these are welcome breaks from every day reality.
Kim comes home after a stressful day at the office trying her best to ignore the fighting between her upstairs neighbours and noises of the city outside. She puts in her earbuds and the soothing voice of her mindfulness app fills her head. As she sits back to focus on her breathing, the voice seems to have disturbing effects on her surroundings. With rising anxiety, Kim realises there’s only one way out.
